The Florida legislature has re-introduced a bill that would allow teachers to use stun guns against students. The same bill was introduced during the last session, and passed in the state house but failed in the senate. Stun guns emit a powerful electric shock of some 120,000 volts, comparable to cattle prods. [...] 
 
Aside from occasionally two small burn marks, there is no permanent damage to healthy persons. But those with weak hearts can be fatally injured. There is no information as to whether the legislature has taken into consideration that stun guns are designed to stop 200-pound adults, not children. Senator William Blankhead, a co-sponsor of the bill, said "It would provide a measure of comfort. Teachers sometimes come in early and stay late and deal with some pretty unruly populations." Blankhead's idea of "comfort" shows the present state of humanity in the state that allows the death penalty for sex with minors.
