Op de consultatiebureaus zou hulp aan minderjarigen, dus niet zonder toestemming van de ouders kunnen worden gegeven.[&#039;]&lt;br&gt;<br /> &lt;br&gt;<br /> Naar mijn mening is dit te stellig geformuleerd en daardoor niet juist. En wel om de volgende redenen:&lt;br&gt;<br /> 1. De arts die een minderjarige aan een voorbehoedsmiddel helpt, handelt niet in strijd met de medische ethiek, indien hij achteraf de ouders op de hoogte zou stellen, handelt hij daarmee wél in strijd met de medische ethiek. Hij zou hierom zelfs voor een medisch rechtscollege gedaagd kunnen worden om verantwoording af te leggen.&lt;br&gt;<br /> 2. Het staat de arts natuurlijk vrij, de minderjarige die hem om contraceptie vraagt, zijn hulp te weigeren; of van de minderjarige te verlangen, dat deze vooraf toestemming van de ouders hiervoor verkrijgt.&lt;br&gt;<br /> 3. De arts is tegenover minderjarigen net zo goed gebonden aan zijn beroepsgeheim als hij dat is tegenover ieder ander. Zelfs als hij in conflict zou komen met wettelijke bepalingen, kan hij zich, indien het belang van de patiënt dit eist, steeds beroepen op zijn zwijgplicht.&lt;br&gt;<br /> &lt;br&gt;<br /> Het valt te betreuren, dat deze mededeling in VO terechtgekomen is, terwijl de algemeen voorzitster zich in haar congresrede veel voorzichtiger had uitgedrukt. Juist voor Jongeren, die toch al altijd denken (en helaas nogal eens terecht!) dat de dokter onder één hoedje speelt met de ouders, is deze passage in VO weinig bemoedigend.&lt;br&gt;<br /> &lt;br&gt;<br /> F.P.
