Much of Artie's [Arthur J. Bressan Jr.] work was praiseworthy. Abuse, about a filmmaker's affair with the 14-year-old boy appearing in his documentary about child abuse, made its point - that the boy was better off being loved by a man than beaten by his parents - too powerfully for most audiences - gay or not - to want to deal with.
