Thomas takes rowing-lessons and he enjoys them very much. Especially the coach Frank is his idol. Frank likes Thomas too and visits his home as a friend of the family. Thomas's parents are divorced and Frank and his mother develop a relationship. This relationship creates a lot of jealous feelings in Thomas. After all, Frank was his friend. To be in love with your teacher only to have your mother sleeping with him, that hurts, even for a boy.
