The decade-old controversy stemmed from when a 15-year-old Miley Cyrus posed for a photo with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, in which her back was exposed and draped tastefully in satin. Cyrus was still in her Disney star phase at the time, and outrage was generated about her near-nakedness. Pearls were clutched. [...] However, such was the frenzy about the cover, the young Cyrus was forced to apologise as Disney struggled to protect her image. "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic,' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," she said in a statement. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about." [...] This morning the singer posted the front cover of a 2008 edition of New York Post on Twitter, along with a big "Fuck YOU". Seems that now, 10 years later, she's officially sorry not sorry about the shoot.
