Creole women in Surinam and erotic relationships with children and adolescents: some impressions

One informant, Orsy (age 43), in hindsight, explained her preference for older women in this way: I really did not see much in girls my own age when I was fifteen years old. Problems with men and jealousy all the time. I saw how girls would try to take each other's boy-friends away and would always want to have what you had. I loved older women. You did not have to tell them anything, they knew everything already and taught you. They also helped you get stuff for your house, and when you did not have any money.
