A 12-year-old Hillsboro boy is heading to a sex offender treatment program in Troy after admitting to gross sexual imposition with a younger step-sibling. Upon the start of the hearing on Wednesday in Highland County Juvenile Court, assistant prosecutor Molly Bolek laid out the terms of a plea agreement that had been discussed between herself, the boy's parents and the boy and his attorney.

That agreement contained a commitment to the Department of Youth Services, the youth prison system, for at least six months and up to the time the boy turns 21 years old. The boy is also to "successfully engage in and complete" sex offender treatment at a Troy juvenile rehabilitation facility. [...]

It was with tears that the boy received his sentence from the judge, who followed the agreement reached by the parties.
