Schools 'too cautious' over paedophilia: It stops us praising pupils, says expert

A generation of youngsters is growing up without their achievements being publicly celebrated due to irrational child abuse fears, a schools leader has warned. Pupils may never see their successes trumpeted in newsletters, websites or newspapers due to an over-sensitive 'health and safety' culture.

Both state and private schools are increasingly erring on the 'safe side' and keeping pupils hidden from all forms of media according to David Hanson, chief executive of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS).
