This man is a pedophile, and proud of it
Tom O'Carroll is a pedophile. [...] He keeps a blog. Because he cannot legally have sexual relationships with the people he wants most - children who have not yet reached puberty - he writes to relieve the frustration of unfulfilled desire, and of living in a society that tells him those desires are illegal, harmful, evil, sick. He believes this conclusion is incorrect. He believes there are children, even those of a very young age, who like and seek sex with adults. He believes that adults who want to satisfy this perceived need should be legally allowed to do so. He believes there are situations where it is all right for adults to have sexual relationships with children. [...]
He believes that the negative feelings sex abuse survivors report years later - the depression, panic attacks, substance addiction and self-loathing that can haunt people for decades - are brought on by society's disapproval of the encounter, not the abuse itself.
He has been convicted three times for pedophilia-related offenses. "I am a great believer in the rule of law," he said. "I don't happen to like the rule of law as it applies in certain circumstances, as it applies to me."

[Tom O'Carroll's respond:] The other article is based on a phone interview with me. My initial response was that it is as bad as the general piece, mainly because it quotes me out of context: what I said was backed up by references to research, such as the work of Rind, Clancy and others; but these supporting authorities are deleted, so I probably come across as an obsessive crank. However, a number of other people have said they thought this article was quite good.
