Pedophiles are often the only adults a child meets who is not an agent of the family, school, social services or the police, the institutions of adult power over children. Pedophiles can act as ambassadors of the lesbian and gay movement providing a positive image of homosexuality, helping empower children with information and opportunities normally denied them.
