Scat club persecution

Many people find a sexual interest in shit very hard to understand, and it is therefore one of the more oppressed sexual interests. The Scat (shit) Club for gay men, based in Holland, provides a magazine enabling contact with other members, and containing only material on consenting adults in private. Nevertheless on the basis of one single porn video which was seized by the customs on its way to a UK member from the Scat Club, every other subscriber in the UK was traced, and raided, by the police. Charges were brought against over a dozen members for such bizarre offenses as keeping club magazines (1000 pounds fine) sending scat through the post (28 days imprisonment), keeping 'obscene' letters (1000 pounds fine) etc.

These so-called crimes are totally victimless, but the charges have caused untold human misery: One member killed himself, and the lover of another member who had AIDS collapsed from stress and died.

This is truely the age of the mind police reminiscent of Nazi Germany when it was illegal to have homosexual fantasies. What is truely disgusting is not the gay men with an interest in scat, but the total lack of support given to them by progressive groups and lesbian and gay organisations. Why wasn't our movement angry? Why was no care and support offered? Where was the protest on the Scat Clubs behalf? After all, the case was widely reported in the press. Perhaps the answer was because it was not a respectable, clean issue? If the lesbian and gay movement is to mean anything it must defend all people against attacks on their sexuality by the state, otherwise we will never be string, and liberation will only be for some.
